Last week, 17 of us, including 15 passionate CIC Tribe members, embarked on a transformative journey to the stunning Jacó Beach area in Costa Rica. Our home for the week was the serene Buddha House, a charming Airbnb that offered the perfect communal spaces for dining, working, and relaxing by the pool.
Daily Rhythms and Magical Mornings
Each day began with the sunrise, as our early body clocks led us to the beach. The mornings were nothing short of magical, with baby turtles gracing our first morning and breathtaking bird sightings on others. Although our sloth-spotting attempts at dawn weren't successful, Abi's adventurous spirit led her to a unique sloth tattoo!
Adventures and Team Bonding
Our downtime was filled with unforgettable adventures. We embarked on a group trip to a nearby island, where snorkeling became a highlight for many. Some of us braved a challenging jungle trek, which, despite its difficulty, turned into an incredible bonding experience. We also explored an abandoned hotel adorned with street art, offering stunning views and a perfect sunset walk. For a few of us, attending a local American-run church service on Sunday was a special and relaxing experience.
Incredible Achievements and Transformations
The work accomplished during the retreat was nothing short of remarkable. On the very first day, Abi applied for over £70k in grants, narrowly meeting an 11 am deadline despite the post-flight fatigue. The support from the group was palpable, as everyone rallied around her. Throughout the week, members redesigned projects and brainstormed business-transforming ideas. The presence of experts like myself and my sister Tracey provided invaluable insights that changed many members' directions.
Building Confidence and Community
A significant focus was on generating extra income, with everyone challenged to create online courses and explore TikTok channels. Abi, with her 87k followers and successful TikTok presence, inspired everyone to dive into the platform. It's been heartwarming to see so many Tribe members confidently appearing on my feed with newfound enthusiasm!
The retreat was a testament to the power of community. Members supported each other, broke down barriers, and tackled imposter syndrome together. Generous partnerships formed, with Hilary lending Ruby her van for the Wellbeing Wagon CIC and Kimz attending Krystal's CIC event upon return. Abi and Elle's retreats sold out quickly as members flocked to support them. I've even hired three members as new CIC experts, recognising their potential and commitment to generating more income.

A Week of Madness and Achievement
Being surrounded by like-minded individuals was incredibly empowering. The achievements during the retreat were nothing short of madness, in the best way possible. The positivity, problem-solving, and support shared among us drove everyone to believe that great things are possible.
The CIC Tribe retreat in Costa Rica was more than just a getaway; it was a catalyst for growth, collaboration, and transformation. Here's to more magical experiences and continued success for our incredible community!
