Follow these steps and you will sail though getting your great, project delivery and evaluation.

Here’s a checklist for successfully completing the National Lottery Community Fund 

 

Eligibility:  

- Who Can Apply: CICs, charities, voluntary groups, and other not-for-profit organisations.  

- Focus Areas: Projects must align with the fund’s priorities:  

  1. Bringing people together to build strong relationships in and across communities  

  2. Improving the places and spaces that matter to communities  

  3. Enabling more people to fulfil their potential by addressing inequalities  

  4. Supporting communities to thrive  

 

Checklist for a Successful Application:  

1. Community Engagement:  

   - Conduct 50+ surveys using Google Forms (free to use).  

   - Share the responses in a spreadsheet link within the application.  

   - Host 1-2 taster sessions (1 online and 1 in-person).  

   - Record audio feedback from participants about the impact of the sessions and how they would benefit from more free sessions.  

 

2. Create a Strong Video to attaching in the third text box:  

   - Overlay audio feedback onto videos and photos of the taster sessions.  

   - Create a 3-minute video summarising the project’s impact and attach it via a YouTube link in the application.  

 

3. Align with Priorities:  

   - Design the project around the 4 priorities listed above.  

   - Clearly state how the project meets these priorities in the application.  

 

4. Include Key Numbers:  

   - Number of beneficiaries: How many people will benefit?  

   - Session details: How long are the sessions, how many sessions will there be, and how many people will attend each?  

   - Community input: How many people in your community contributed to designing the project?  

 

5. Budget Breakdown:  

   - Include specific details such as the venue name, hourly rates, and hours worked for staff and facilitators.  

   - Provide three quotes for costs (e.g., venue hire, equipment).  

   - Keep sessional worker pay under £200 per day.  

   - You can pay yourself but label it as "Project Facilitator" in the budget.  

   - Avoid including contingency costs.  

   - Ensure costs are simple and receipts can be provided for all expenses.  

 

6. Exciting and Passionate Writing:  

   - Start the application with an exciting first line to grab attention.  

   - Use the full word count, making the project sound passionate and impactful.  

 

7. Polish Your Social Media:  

   - Ensure your social media accounts look professional and active, as they may check them for credibility and community engagement.
